President Michelle Johnson shared her vision with its members. She challenged the Association to increase our annual membership to 500 members and to  increase our fundraising efforts to $1,000,000 a year to support our growing Black undergraduate and graduate student population.  We also unveiled the Black Bruin Legacy video created by Tierra Thomas (Class of 2019)

Black Wednesday on Friday

On Friday, Black Bruins convened on campus to take a trip back down memory lane.  Our day started off with a financial empowerment workshop by several Bruin alumni. After the workshop, we went on campus tour with a people of color twist.  Alumni learned about the various students of color contributions to UCLA.  At noon, we ate and fellowshipped with a performance by the East African Students Association.  We also learned the "UCLA", a line dance created by Black Bruins from the Class of 2010.

Let's Play: The Ultimate Adult
Game Night Experience

The Bruin Playground brought bruins from across the nation to experience a special night of board games, sexy musical chairs, old school candy, overside tricycles, cigar lounge, video game lounge, 3 dj's and so much more.  Over 250 people attended from all classes.

Homecoming Tailgate & Game

Over 100 Bruins came to party at the Rose Bowl with UCLA Black Alumni Association.  We had catered food and music. We partied until the Dodgers played for the National League pennant was broadcasted on the large movie theatre screen television.  When we entered the Rose Bowl, UBAA was featured on the jumbotron as we watched the Bruins beat up on Arizona.

Dr. V.  "Berky" H. Nelson Scholarship Fund Reception

To close out the homecoming weekend, Andre Farr hosted a reception to raise money for Dr. Berky Nelson's scholarship fund.  He shared his experiences with Dr. Nelson and how he enriched his life as a Bruin.  You can still help out and help raise money for the Berky Nelson Scholarship Reception today.
